here we are

San Casciano dei Bagni (582 mt) is a small medieval village which has 800 inhabitants and is rich in well preserved historical memories; all around there are hot springs, forests and beautiful scenery. The village is perched on the Hill, immersed in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Tuscany, on the slopes of monte Cetona and near mount Amiata.
Historical reporting tracks the knowledge of place already at the time of ancient Romans, when Horace describes the curative properties of thermal waters of San Casciano in one of his Epistles. The first settlement developed in the vicinity of terme, near the "little church" of St. Mary at Balnea.
In the 12th century, the country is subjected to the rule of the Visconti di Campiglia and after various disputes relies on the authority of the commune of Siena and then the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
Its location is ideal for the proximity of the Val d'Orcia and Umbria and Lazio regions.
Within easy reach of the city of Siena, Rome, Perugia, Arezzo, the towns of Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Orvieto and Trasimeno and Bolsena lakes.
